The McLaren 675LT is not a car that needs embellishment. It is a focused, lightweight machine with very deliberate proportions and a factory finish that deserves to be preserved exactly as it left the factory. The owner brought it to us here in Birmingham with a clear brief: protect every panel with a full body PPF installation, then add a set of bespoke stripes that work with the car rather than against it. The 675LT has a strong visual language. The body is sculpted to move air efficiently and every surface has a purpose. Full Body PPF Coverage Means Every Panel Is Protected Against Stone Chips and Road Debris
A 675LT sits low and moves quickly. At that ride height, stone chips and road debris are a constant threat to the paint. We covered every panel with Paint Protection Film, including the front bumper, bonnet, front wings, door faces, sills, rear bumper and rear deck. The film is optically clear and self-healing on surface-level marks. Once installed correctly, it is invisible in normal light. The factory paint underneath is completely untouched throughout the process and will remain so for the life of the film.
The Installation Requires Precise Pattern Cutting and Clean Edge Work on a Complex Body
The 675LT is not an easy car to wrap in PPF. The panel shapes are compound and the gaps are tight. We cut the film to pattern for each panel individually, ensuring full coverage to the edges without bulk or bridging. Edge work on a car like this matters. Any lifting at a corner or visible edge line on a car of this calibre is not acceptable. Every edge was tucked or terminated cleanly against a shut line or recess, so the film sits flat and secure. The striping was applied in register with the PPF so the two elements sit in the same plane and the finish reads as a single cohesive piece of work.
PPF Keeps the Paint Completely Reversible and the Car’s Value Intact
One of the practical reasons owners of cars at this level choose PPF over other forms of protection is reversibility. The film can be removed cleanly without damaging the paint beneath. The factory finish is preserved in the condition it was in on the day of installation. For a low-volume McLaren like the 675LT, that matters. The car retains its factory originality under the film while being protected against the wear that driving it will inevitably bring. The bespoke striping, applied over the PPF, can equally be removed without touching the paint or the film underneath.
