Lamborghini Urus Metallic Black Wrap with Blue Accents and Caliper Painting in Birmingham

The owner of this Lamborghini Urus came to us at Wrapart with a clear brief. He wanted the car transformed into something more deliberate and more individual than its factory specification allowed. The brief covered three elements: a full colour change wrap in metallic black, blue accent work across specific body details, and caliper painting to match. We carried out all three in our Birmingham studio, and the result is a car that reads as a complete, considered build rather than a collection of separate modifications.

Why Metallic Black Works on the Urus

The Urus has strong, angular surfacing. The body is full of sharp character lines, wide arches, and aggressive cuts that reward a finish with depth. Metallic black does exactly that. It shifts between a near-solid dark tone in flat light and a rich, multi-dimensional surface in direct sun. That behaviour suits the Urus specifically because the bodywork is complex enough to make the most of it. A flat or matte finish would suppress the detail. The metallic here amplifies it.

The blue accents were chosen to break the monochrome without softening it. The tone sits cool against the metallic black and draws the eye to the lines the designer intended to be noticed. The caliper colour ties the two together at the wheel. When the car is in motion, or even stationary, the three elements work as one palette rather than three separate decisions.

The Technical Side of This Job

The Urus presents specific challenges at the panel edges, around the wheel arches, and across the bonnet where the surface changes direction sharply. The film has to be worked carefully into recesses and around curves without overstretching or creating tension points that would cause premature lifting. We used a cast metallic film for this project because cast films conform to complex surfaces more reliably than calendered alternatives. The material holds its shape once applied and does not have the same memory pull that causes issues on curved panels over time.

The accent sections required precise masking and clean cut lines. Any inconsistency in those edges would undermine the whole finish. The caliper painting was carried out with the calipers cleaned back and properly prepared before colour was applied. Preparation on this stage matters as much as the application itself. Paint on a poorly prepared caliper will not last, regardless of the product used.

Protection and Reversibility

A full wrap on a car at this level does more than change its appearance. The film sits over the factory paint and protects it from stone chips, light abrasion, and general road contamination. On a Lamborghini, the factory paintwork holds significant value. Keeping it in its original, undamaged condition underneath the wrap protects that value directly.

The wrap is also fully reversible. When the owner wants to return the car to its original colour, the film can be removed without affecting the paint beneath, provided the paint was in good condition at the time of application. We inspect the paint before any wrap goes on. If there are chips or areas of damage, we flag them to the owner first. The film will conform to any surface imperfection, and those imperfections will be more visible after removal if not addressed beforehand. That conversation is part of the process on every job we take on.

Get in Touch

If your brief is a full colour change, a set of accents, caliper work, or a combination of all three, we approach each job the same way. We look at the car, understand what the owner wants to achieve, and work out the best way to get there. If you have a project in mind, get in touch with our team in Birmingham and we can talk through what is possible.
