When this BMW E92 arrived at our studio in Birmingham, the owner had a clear brief but an ambitious one. A full wrap in High Gloss Rubellite Purple, with a bespoke white livery designed and cut to flow across the rear quarters and doors. The carbon front end was staying. Everything else was being transformed.
Rubellite Purple Up Close
Rubellite Purple is a colour that behaves differently depending on the light. In low light it reads almost black, with a depth that suits the E92’s muscular lines well. In direct sunlight it shifts into a vibrant deep magenta that is hard to ignore. That kind of shift is what makes a finish like this worth choosing over a flat colour. The car looks different every time the conditions change, which means it never gets old.
We applied the high gloss film across the full body, which gives the colour maximum intensity and lets it interact with light the way it is supposed to. The result is a finish that feels premium at every angle.
The Bespoke White Livery
The owner wanted to go beyond a colour change, and that is where the bespoke livery comes in. We designed and precision cut white graphics that flow across the rear quarters and doors, giving the car a racing inspired aesthetic that works alongside the carbon front end rather than competing with it. Every line was positioned to follow the natural geometry of the E92’s bodywork, so the livery feels like it belongs on the car rather than sitting on top of it.
Applying a white livery over a high gloss metallic wrap requires care. The edges have to be clean and the lines have to be straight, because any imprecision reads immediately against a surface this reflective. We design the livery digitally first to confirm placement before anything is cut, which means what you see in the render is what you get on the car.
Carbon, Gloss and Yellow Accents
The carbon front end was retained as part of the brief, and it earns its place. The raw carbon against the high gloss purple creates a contrast in both texture and tone that gives the car a purposeful, technical look. The yellow headlight accents add a final detail that nods to endurance racing without drawing too much attention to themselves. Together the three elements sit in balance. Nothing fights for dominance and everything makes sense as part of the whole.
The Finished Result
The completed E92 is a car that looks considered from every angle. The Rubellite Purple is the headline, the livery gives it identity, and the carbon and yellow details give it edge. If you have a project in mind, get in touch with our team in Birmingham and we can talk through what is possible.
