How Much It Costs to Wrap a Mini Cooper

A full colour change wrap on a Mini Cooper costs from £2,250 at our Birmingham studio, and on a Mini Countryman from £2,400. Partial wraps start at £1,500 on the Cooper and £1,550 on the Countryman, and graphics at £560 and £590. Chrome and colour shift films cost more and are quoted on the car.

The three door hatch has the least surface to cover. The Countryman and Clubman are longer and taller, with more panels and trim, so they sit in the band above. Every price is on our price guide.

Why a Mini Takes More Care to Wrap Than Its Size Suggests

A Mini is a small car with a lot of curves. The bonnet is deep and rounded, the wheel arches are tight, and the round headlights sit in shaped openings that the film has to follow without stretching thin.

For Selfridges we wrapped a Mini Cooper in full gold chrome as the centrepiece for the centenary of their Oxford Street store. Chrome is one of the hardest films to fit, and every panel needed seamless joins to hold a mirror finish.

The roof is designed to read as a separate panel above blacked out pillars, which gives you options most cars do not. A contrast roof and mirror caps in black, white or a satin colour change the look of a Mini without wrapping the whole car. Bonnet stripes work the same way.

For clean edges we remove lights, badges, handles and trim where it is safe to, and tuck the film behind them rather than cutting around them on the car.

How Long a Mini Wrap Lasts

A wrap fitted with proper preparation lasts five to seven years with good care. Edge priming, post heating and a fully clean surface stop film lifting at the edges, and we do all three as standard.

The film also protects the factory paint from light scratches and road grime. When you want the original colour back, the wrap comes off and the paint underneath is in the condition it was in when we started.

Frequently asked questions

  • From £2,250 for a full colour change on the three door Mini Cooper at our Birmingham studio. Partial wraps start at £1,500 and graphics at £560. Chrome and colour shift films are quoted on the car.

  • £2,400 for a full wrap, £1,550 for a partial wrap and £590 for graphics. The Countryman is in our medium car band, alongside the Volkswagen Golf and Honda Civic.

  • Yes. A roof and mirror cap wrap is one of the simplest changes you can make to a Mini, and bonnet stripes can go on at the same time. We quote these on the car.

  • Wrapping is usually cheaper. A quality respray on a medium sized car starts at around £3,000 to £4,000 and goes up quickly for custom colours. A full wrap costs less, protects the paint underneath and comes off when you want the original colour back.

  • Five to seven years with good care. Keeping the car garaged helps the film last towards the top of that range.

  • Three to five days for a full wrap, with the three door Cooper at the shorter end. That covers removing trim, prep, wrapping, refitting and inspection.

  • Yes, if the wrap changes the colour. Update the colour on your V5C and tell your insurer, as a colour change counts as a modification.

  • No. Wrap film is designed to come off without damaging factory paint. Paint that has been resprayed or is already damaged can lift when film is removed.
