When this BMW M3 G80 arrived at our studio in Birmingham, the brief was focused. The car was already in Isle of Man Green, which is one of the strongest colours on the G80, and the owner wanted to build on that rather than change it. Carbon fibre accents, red pinstriping on the kidney grilles, and a tail light tint to bring the rear end together. Nothing excessive, just the right details in the right places.
Carbon Fibre Across the Hood and Roof
We applied carbon fibre accents across the hood and roof, creating a dark textured contrast that runs the length of the car. On a deep metallic green like Isle of Man, the carbon sits against the paint in a way that sharpens the whole silhouette. The G80 already has strong lines and the carbon picks those up without fighting them. The result feels deliberate rather than added on, which is exactly what this kind of work should feel like.
Red Kidney Grille Pinstriping and Tail Light Tint
We outlined the kidney grilles in red pinstriping to draw the eye and give the front end a finished, considered look. The red sits between the green paint and the carbon detailing and ties both together. It is a small detail that makes a significant difference to how the front of the car reads as a whole.
The tail light tint completes the rear end. Darkening the tail light housings brings them in line with the carbon and the overall tone of the build, and removes the stark contrast that the clear lenses created against everything else we had done. The rear of the car now reads as one piece rather than a collection of separate elements.
OEM Plus, Not Aftermarket
Styling a G80 requires restraint. The factory design is already bold and it is straightforward to overdo it. Our approach on this car was to work within what BMW intended and refine it rather than override it. Every accent was placed to look as though it could have left the factory that way. That standard takes more time and more care than simply adding parts, but it is the difference between a car that looks modified and one that looks right.
The Finished Result
The completed M3 is a car that holds together from every angle. The Isle of Man Green is still the headline, and the carbon, red pinstriping and tail light tint work around it rather than against it.
